Call me a victim of my own attempts to be optimistic, but at least for the moment, I have to agree with Eomer.

Now that the Senate Parliamentarian has pulled all the NFA de-listings from the “Big Beautiful Bill,” the only hope that remains is that Senate Republicans will suddenly grow a pair and ignore her.

But a set of Republican huevos is so hard to imagine, I couldn't even get Grok to draw me a couple of eggs with a GOP logo on them. It's digital brain just couldn't put the two together…and neither can mine.

The Parliamentarian's unilateral decision gives them the perfect out. Now they get to throw up their hands and say, “Well, we tried!” Now they can go back to shaking their fists at the sly and swearing that they'll continue to fight for us as the principled loser…if we'll just reelect them one more time.

Unfortunately, there's no more real fight in the GOP than there is in a pro wrestling show. Sure, they tried to slip a little pro-gun language past the Democrats, but let me tell you something, brother!…don't expect them to break even a little sweat on behalf of the 2nd Amendment. They never have before, and I'm not counting on it now.
